Cataracts-Brian Rihlmann

inside
a caricaturist
runs loose
drawing enemies
drawing friends
on my walls
with mad abandon

if you could see
his portrayals
you’d say
“that looks nothing like me!”

you become a cherub
or a gargoyle
a demon or angel
Madonna or whore

sometimes I stare
too long at his art
it clouds my vision
like cataracts
between you and me
between me and me
